PHOBIAS YOU ARE LIKELY TO HAVE IN CAMPUS
You have probably heard of the weirdest of phobias that get you asking, “is that even a thing!?” Well, yes, some of them are actually real and might exist within the confines of your college environment. You might even be a victim of them and yo might not even know it. Here are some of the phobias you or your friend are likely to have while in campus:
Claustrophobic
This is the extreme or irrational fear of confined places. People who have this kind of fear will tend to avoid getting into a lift with a lot of people or generally hate being surrounded by people. If you think that you seriously need some space (not the relationship kind of, though your partner might be all in your face), then you are surely claustrophobic.
Atychiphobia
You might find that no matter how many times you read for that exam or CAT, you are still afraid of failing. Away from school and you are still afraid of losing to that annoying person who always wants to beat you in a game of chess. This is when we allow that fear to stop us doing the things that can move us forward to achieve our goals.
Sexophobia
Sex is happening around us. we might be partaking in this activity ourselves, or we just hear t from our friends. It is happening either way. so what happens when you discover that you are extremely afraid of sexual organs or sexual activities? You would be labelled as sexophobic. It can be applied to the attitude of a person based on his or her educational background, personal experience and psyche, or to the general position of collective entities like religious groups or institutions.
Scopophobia
Do you have a morbid fear o being seeing by others or being stared at by classmates or schoolmates? Well, you my friend, could be having scopophobia. It can be associated with a pathological fear of drawing attention to oneself.
Glossophobia
If you have taken classes on public speaking, you probably know about this. It is basically speech anxiety. You must dread to speak in public if you are a victim. Others may also have broader social phobia or social anxiety disorder (the fear of being scrutinized by those people who sit down and judge you while you are making a presentation in class .)
Anuptaphobia
fear being single? Do you find yourself replacing your partners right after a break up? You have this ridiculous phobia called anuptaphobia.
Bibliophobia
With school, comes a lot of reading and touching of books here and there. I feel like this is pretence (but that’s me) to some level. Assignments for this person would have to be in a stone tablet or in soft copy because they fear books.
Decidophobia
Just as it is written, it is the fear of making decisions. I guess many of us would suffer from that especially in campus.
Euphobia
Scoring an A in that test might not seem like good news to you or a friend. Imagine someone somewhere in the streets on your college has the fear for hearing good news. Just imagine!
Graphophobia
I wish I could have this so that way I could escape those long writing hours during exam. This is the fear of writing or for handwriting.
