Viagra also known as the little blue pill is medication used to treat erectile dysfunction and pulmonary arterial hypertension. It is taken orally or through injection into a vein. Viagra was first used to treat patients with chest pains but it graduated to being purely a sex drug. In Kenya, data shows that the drug is popular from Thursday to Sunday, with dozens of pills sold over the counter.  As good as its results in bed are, it also has side effects. This includes:

  • Nausea and stomach upset may occur. May also cause back pains, which is not so convenient compared to the sexual energy it gives.
  • Rarely, decreased vision may occur including permanent blindness, in one or both eyes. This is because the drug distorts the part of the eyes that deals with light reception. Sudden decrease or loss of hearing. Sometimes with ringing in the ear and dizziness may occur.
  • Prolonged erections may also occur. This is because of quick blood flow in the body and most of it is directed to the male sexual organ.

Quick facts about Viagra is that it can be taken daily. The problem with taking the little blue pill daily is that the body loses its natural ability to produce sexual hormones. Another major fact is that people have been known to die from usage of Viagra. This is because the drug has the ability to increase blood flow to and from the heart which may cause stroke.
